I was a traditional bride when planning my wedding.  I didn’t want to see Ryan before the ceremony, because it was branded in my head that it was bad luck to see the groom before the ceremony.  We are now in the 20th century and brides are thinking out of the box and couples wants their wedding to be unique and different.

It has become a trend and more brides and grooms are opting to seeing each other before the ceremony.  By seeing each other before the ceremony made the couple feel SO much more calm and relaxed.  It gave them that moment to kind of forget about all of the stress of planning their wedding and just take in the moment that it is finally here.  It also allows them that small intimate moment together to reflect on how much they love each other.  I can contest that it is such a beautiful moment and it brings tears to my eyes every time I witness it.

The best part of a couple seeing each other before the ceremony is that it lends to a much smoother layout for family pictures, cocktail hour, and beautiful sunset pictures of the bride and groom after the ceremony. If a couple requests a First Look, I also encourage them to plan for family pictures and bridal party pictures beforehand. Com’on…how many people want to miss the cocktail hour? Not many. By capturing formal photos before the ceremony, it frees the family and bridal party to mingle, catch up with out-of-towners, and simply enjoy the mood of the day. Some couples opt to spend cocktail hour with their guests as their time is so limited during the reception, or some opt to enjoy some time alone.

I prefer a bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony, but–truthfully–it doesn’t matter to me either way. More than anything, I want my brides to be happy. I simply explain their options because I know they’ll make an educated decision. Often times brides think there are rules to weddings (Cannot see groom before hand, Must throw garter, Can not be seen as a couple until the Grand Entrance), but I believe there should only be one rule: Do What Makes You Happy.

She was so excited that I had made her a cake and to hear her tell me that I am the best mother ever. It just solidify that it was all worth it. Her birthday party was a hit and all of her friends and family were there to celebrate her special day. The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast swimming in the pool. Thank you all that came to help celebrate her special day!

I can’t believe she is 7 today. I remember the day when I found out I was expecting and without a doubt, I knew I was going to have a little girl. I had my heart set on have a little girl. The day she arrived, all of my wishes came true. On August 27th, I was blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Now 7 years later! She is the sweetest like girl and everyone just loves to be around her.

Happy Birthday baby girl!!! Mom, Dad and your brother love you very much!!!

It was an awesome intimate wedding in Southern California.  I had such a wonderful time hanging out with  Brigette and all of the beautiful bridesmaids. They are a crazy group and I loved every minute of it with them.  Thank you ladies for a wonderful time!!!!

It makes me sad to see how fast she is growing up. She is still my little baby and I just love mommy and daughter time at the mall together. She is such a sweetheart! I could have asked for a better best friend and a wonderful daughter. She makes my heart melt when she tells me she wants to be like me (a Photographer and a Design Star) and that I am the “bestest mommy ever”. She is going to be a heart breaker. What out guys!!!

I am  enjoying the time to reflect on my business and spending quality time with my kids and husband.  Here are some recent work.

I had such a wonderful time heading up to Napa with my family and spending Father’s Day hanging out with the Godfrey family. They were so kind and hospitable to us.  My mouth just dropped as we drove up the drive way to their house.  I was in love! The house had a breath taking view and the landscape filled with luscious greens and tons of beautiful flowers.   I would be happy to house sit any time.
