I am a photographer that specializes in on-location shoots. My lighting style is a mix of natural light and artificial. If you have a specific location in mind where you would like your session to take place, please let me know. If you are not sure, or have a general inspiration for the look of your portraits, I can recommend a location.
On-location portrait session require a $150.00 retainer for up to the first four people, additional subjects are $25.00 each. Multiple locations are an extra $35.00. The balance of the retainer fee is due upon booking. Retainer fees are required to hold the date and time of your session. Sessions cancelled within 3 days or not attended are non refundable. Sessions may be rescheduled under necessary circumstances such as illness, emergency and bad weather conditions.
HOW I WORK
I am very flexible and relaxed when I do a shoot. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible and most importantly, have fun! I want to capture real emotions, real moments, nothing fake. That sometimes takes time, and I do everything in my power to achieve that result! My goal is to give you portraits that are truly expressive of the subject(s). No cookie cutter style or cheesy half smiles here! Being a mom, I understand the need for nap times and breaks for little ones. This means planning around your child’s schedule as much as possible. Sessions can last anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours, depending on the number of people, clothing changes, and the location(s).
WHEN SHOULD YOU BOOK YOUR SESSION?
Typically I book 3-4 weeks in advance. But always check in with me, you never know when a slot will open up at the last minute
LOCATIONS, LOCATIONS
I am an on location photographer. Some of my favorite places to shoot are little downtown nooks and alleys, fields that are either grassy or flowery, or even, gasp, your child’s very own bedroom! I’m always looking for new, uncharted territory, so if you’re really looking for a unique experience, let me know and we’ll tackle one of my crazy ideas.
WHAT TO WEAR
Oh well…that depends my friends. But I think things work out smashingly when my clients go with one of three options:
Always feel free to e-mail me and ask any questions you may have leading up to your session!
#1 Minimal. Babies photograph best in nothing at all. And there’s no better trick to getting a modern, hip portrait then by keeping clothing options basic (Think American Apparel) with the right dash of funky.
#2 Funky Fresh (my personal favorite). Forget what you’ve always heard about avoiding wild patterns and stripes! Embrace anything with color, texture (ruffles, cords, and burlap, yes burlap)! Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! If you want your portraits to have a whimsical sense of fun about them, weave together all those funky elements that make you YOU. For families, sometimes doing this while sticking to a basic color scheme of 3-4 colors is helpful.
#3 Classic. If you are looking for portraits with that timeless, soul gripping vibe this is the option for you. Girls in white cotton dresses. Boys with rolled up shirt sleeves…you get the idea.
HAVE FUN!!!
No one ever said it was easy to relax in front of the camera (That's where I come in). But it’s important to come to your session as "ready to be you," as possible. Sessions with me are NOT pinched, uncomfortable attempts to look just so for the camera. They are an opportunity for me to get to figure out what it is about you, your child, or your family that makes you who you are. Suffice to say, playing with your child during our session will be much more effective than begging him to look at the camera.
AFTER THE SESSION
After your session a couple of teaser images (2-3 day from the session) will be posted on my blog and Facebook. Feel free to ad me as your friend on your Facebook. After 14 days from the date of your session, all your images will be posted in password protected gallery to view and order. Once your gallery is ready, you will be contacted with the information you need to view your photographs. You are more than welcome to share your gallery with friends and family who may place an order as well. You personal gallery will be available for 60 days to place your order. After that time period, there is a $75 reactivating fee to make the gallery available for viewing again.
Please fee free to contact me with any questions (408) 221-2617
