We recognize that your custom portrait session is a large investment for your family so we have instituted these policies to assist us in being sure we are fair to all of our customers, and that we can provide a positive portrait session experience. 1. A 50% deposit is due to book your session and the rest of your payment is due when you show up for your session. Your session is not reserved until we receive payment of your session fee. The session fee is non-refundable but may be transferred when a session is rescheduled due to illness or poor weather and when the session is reschedule to take place within 30 days of the original appointment.
1. Exclusive Photographer: Please only bring the people that will be photographed to the session. Also, please do not bring your own camera, camcorder, or recording device to the session.
2. Before Your Session: Please have your children dressed and ready to go for their session. This includes hair combing and having their faces clean. Children are more likely to become grouchy if they are fussed with too much before the session.
3. Your gallery of proofs will be available for your review 2-3 weeks after your portrait session takes place. You will have 60 days to place your order before your gallery expires. To reactivate your gallery, we will collect a non-refundable $75.
4. Our packages start at $250 and our a la carte items start at $25. We have found that most customers spend $900-$1200 on their portraits which typically includes a number of gift prints, some wall prints, and a session album or disk of images.
5. Due to the custom nature of portrait photography, all sales are final and non-refundable. However, should you have a problem with your print we will work with our vendors to promptly replace the damaged item.
6. As a natural light photographer, our sessions are weather dependent. Should the weather not cooperate for our scheduled appointment time we will contact you to reschedule the appointment. For sessions in the cooler winter months we think hats and scarves make great accessories for keeping warm and looking cute! We’ve done sessions in light rain with some fun umbrellas, rain coats, and rain boots but if you’d prefer to reschedule for a nicer day we completely understand. We don’t like wet feet either.
7. We understand that kids get sick and are happy to reschedule portrait sessions due to illness. Our experience has been that a photograph seems to exaggerate how sick your kids may look. Frequently they will look tired, sleepy, or generally unhappy in their pictures. Again, we understand that this is an investment and strongly encourage you to contact us if your child is under the weather to reschedule.
8. Timing your session can be an important factor to getting the best pictures of your child. Do not schedule a portrait session for a meal time or naptime for your child. If you have a toddler that may need a brief snack and drink break during your session that is fine…just let us know in advance and we’ll plan for that. If your child tends to be happy and cooperative in the morning, schedule a morning session. If afternoon is a better time for your child, we can accommodate that as well. Keep in mind that the best time for portrait sessions based on the light is early in the morning, or the hour before sunset.
9. Travel Fee: There is a $1.00 per mile travel fee for locations 30 miles outside of San Jose.
